Womanity Award (4th round) to prevent Domestic Violence against Women and Girls

Deadline: 31 January 2021

Nominations are now open for the 4th round of the Womanity Award to find innovative programmes to prevent domestic violence against women and girls.

First launched in 2014, the Womanity Award works to surface innovative solutions to prevent violence against women and girls (VAWG) from around the world. It focuses on the power of collaboration to address the root cause of VAWG. Approximately every two years, they select a pair of organisations in the Global South who then work together for three years.

One of these is the Innovation Partner (IP) who has an innovative evidence-based approach to prevent violence against women and girls. They support them to help them increase their reach by adapting their programme in partnership with another organisation. The other organisation is the Scale-Up Partner (SP) who receives support to adapt and deliver the tried-and-tested innovation in their own location. Both organisations share knowledge and learn from each other through a partnership based upon balanced power and mutual respect. The Womanity Foundation has launched three rounds of the Womanity Award to date. Each of them has focused on a different theme related to violence against women and girls. These have included engaging men and boys, online violence and women’s safety in public spaces.

Eligibility Criteria

Ø  You must be based in the Global South. The Innovation Partner and Scale-Up Partner should be from different countries.

Ø  You must be a legal, registered organisation.

Ø  The Innovation and Scale-Up Partners must have a partnership agreed in principle to adapt a programme focused on the prevention of domestic violence against women and girls in the country where Scale-Up Partner is based.

Ø  You must be able to communicate in English for both the selection process and implementation if selected. (They recognise that this may limit many organizations from taking part in the process, but unfortunately, they don’t have the structure to select and to manage projects in different languages for the time being)

Ø  A desirable but not mandatory criteria is to have a diverse board and senior leadership with equal/fair representation of women.

Submit your Concept Note and apply for funding now!

The 4th Call for Proposals is now open until Friday, 29 January 2021, 23:59 CET.
Please submit your project concept to the ISF via info@insuresilience-solutions-fund.org.

In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, a holistic approach on disaster relief and preparedness seems more vital than ever in order to compensate (in-)direct effects on economic development and growth of ODA countries. Thus, the ISF especially welcomes project concepts targeting the sectors most vulnerable to effects of the pandemic, such as critical infrastructure, emergency relief and financial support of (M)SMEs.

All documents relevant for the application process and further guiding documents are published here.

Q&A sessions January 2021

The ISF will host two Q&A sessions on Thursday, 14 January 2021, 3 - 5pm CET, and Tuesday, 19 January 2021, 10am - 12pm CET. The ISF will give insight into the mandate of the ISF, the eligibility and funding criteria, the application process and timeline for the 4th Call for Proposals, and answer questions with regard to these topics or other questions related to a potential application.
Interested parties wishing to attend are asked to kindly confirm their interest for either of the two sessions via info@insuresilience-solutions-fund.org, and provide name(s) and respective organisation(s) of the participant(s) by 8 January 2021.
